NBX designs and installs landscape lighting systems that highlight architecture, improve safety, and extend the hours you can enjoy your Arlington Heights, PA outdoor space.
Understanding The Service
How thoughtful lighting design changes the way your property feels at night
Landscape lighting is one of the most overlooked upgrades a property can receive, yet it has a dramatic effect on both appearance and function. Our design process begins with an evening walkthrough of your Arlington Heights, PA property, since lighting decisions are nearly impossible to make accurately in daylight. We observe how natural shadows fall, identify architectural features worth highlighting, and note pathways or steps that currently lack adequate visibility after dark.
From there, we develop a layered lighting plan rather than scattering fixtures evenly across the yard. Layering means combining different types of light, including uplighting for trees, downlighting from eaves, path lights for walkways, and accent spotlights for focal features like fountains or stone walls. This approach creates depth and dimension instead of flat, uniform illumination that washes out the details of your landscape.
Fixture selection matters just as much as placement. We use weatherproof, low-voltage LED fixtures designed for long-term outdoor exposure, which use a fraction of the energy that older halogen systems required while producing a warmer, more natural light quality. Every fixture is positioned and aimed individually, then adjusted after dark to confirm the final effect matches the original design intent.
Once installation is complete, we configure a timer or smart control system so your lighting activates automatically at dusk and turns off on a schedule that fits your household. We also walk you through basic maintenance, such as bulb replacement intervals and seasonal fixture adjustments as plants grow and landscaping changes over time.
